INTERPORTPOLICE was established in 1969 as a specialised security organization by and for the support of port police authorities globally.
Our mission is to integrate efforts at an intergovernmental level to address the challenges of security, transnational crime, and terrorism by protecting public safety, transport systems, and critical infrastructure to assist in preserving the world’s transportation systems and port security communities. Protective and Preventive policing is that aspect of law enforcement that provides a deterrent to crime and terrorism and is a defining characteristic of modern policing and security.
Our Mission
Service and History
Our security service interagency organization was started over 50 years ago by port authorities from Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States to address counterterrorism and serious transnational crime. Over the years, this has expanded to working worldwide.
As a global team, we are more effective and resilient as a global force.

Shield
Our emblem and shield were updated for the first time in 2011 since 1972. Added are 37 stars representing our fallen colleagues from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department on September 11, 2001. These stars are a continuous reminder never to forget our fallen officers and officials and to those who follow in their path, working every day to fight terrorism and serious transnational crime. Fred V. Morrone, Superintendent of Police and Director of Public Safety of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police, was the INTERPORTPOLICE's executive vice president and incoming Board President.
