Eligibility Criteria
IPP membership is open to law enforcement and security agencies with direct responsibility for security at airports, seaports, or border facilities integral to the international supply chain.

Puntland Maritime Police Force Joins INTERPORTPOLICE

Growing the Global Alliance
On February 18, 2024, the Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) became the latest agency to join INTERPORTPOLICE. Colonel Mohamed Jama, Base Commander in Bosaso, received the certificate of membership from Deputy Secretary-General Chris Trelawny at a ceremony in Bosaso, Puntland State of Somalia.
Originally founded in 2010 as a counter-piracy force, the PMPF has evolved to encompass aviation security, maritime security, and internal security operations — making it an exemplary model of how port security agencies grow through international partnership.
Following the ceremony, DSG Trelawny met with PMPF aviation security personnel at Bosaso Airport, reinforcing that air and maritime security are interconnected realms requiring integrated strategies and training.
