Inaugural Ceremony — 2012: A joint ceremony was held in New York City for the inaugural recipients of the International Police and Public Safety 9/11 Medal (IPM with valor), honoring Port Authority Police Officers and New York City Police Department officers who gave their lives in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.
