The Assembly made key decisions in a wide range of areas. Of particular relevance to INTERPORTPOLICE member organizations is the adoption of a Strategic Plan for the six years 2024 to 2029, explicitly Strategic Direction 5, “Enhance global facilitation, supply chain resilience and security of international trade”.

As an Organization with Consultative Status, INTERPORTPOLICE was proud to participate in the 33rd Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). 175 Member States of IMO and three Associate Members make up the Assembly.

The Assembly made key decisions in a wide range of areas. Of particular relevance to INTERPORTPOLICE member organizations is the adoption of a Strategic Plan for the six years 2024 to 2029, explicitly Strategic Direction 5, “Enhance global facilitation, supply chain resilience and security of international trade”.

The Assembly also adopted resolution A.1190(33) on “Enhancing the framework of the fight against organized crime in the maritime sector”.

INTERPORTPOLICE will continue to seek to find better ways to address the scourge of trafficking in drugs, weapons, people, and wildlife and to promote more effective inter-agency cooperation at local, national, and regional levels.
