REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
Authorities, police, public safety, intelligence and security whose country is a member of the United Nations (to include INTERPOL) and /or who were admitted to the INTERPORTPOLICE before 2010 are provided with the option of General Authority Observer status at no fee if they so elect because of the current budget constraints. The mission of law enforcement and security organization is to serve, and authority allocation of funding was suspended in 2010 at the Vancouver, B.C. Canada forum due to requests of several authorities. General Authorities (as classified) may retain their Observing Status by request. However, like any organization, funding is essential and voluntary funding is encouraged.
Be a legally constituted government, authority, or regulated authority for law enforcement security or intelligence responsible for aviation, maritime, transport or border sector.
STATUARY CONTRIBUTIONS: Each authority contributes a minimum contribution each year or applies for observing status:
Apply for admission per the guidelines and policies of the INTERPORTPOLICE.
General Authority: Law enforcement, security, and intelligence authority/government agency related to aviation, maritime or transport (includes border/transit).
Voluntary Funding – The requirements to work globally and assist member countries and authorities from traditional resources go beyond police and security budgets. Therefore voluntary funding from governments and security organizations, non-governmental organizations and private entities through programmes, projects, grants, and other contributions become essential. We appreciate appropriate enquiries.
Associate Authority: Port Authority regulated non-government security and/or public safety related to aviation, maritime or transport (including border/transit).
